Beatles in Beantown

After hearing that I had worked with the Emerson Treble Makers on their recording of “Skinny Love,” Achoired Taste – another a cappella group at Emerson College – approached me to help them record their medley of Beatles songs. Achoired Taste was planning to shoot their first music video and wanted a quality recording of […]

“Can You Pass Me a Marshmallow?” – a 48 Hour Film Project

I spent this past weekend creating what is now my sixth entry in the 48 Hour Film Project (48HFP). This year, our team Weekend Warriors competed in Boston from May 1-3, 2015. This is the 5th iteration of this team with only a handful returning each year. Being the 5th Anniversary of Weekend Warriors, we decided to revamp our team’s logo to a more polished look.

Sing That Thing! on WGBH

I was fortunate to be on the editing team for a brand new show on WGBH. Sing That Thing! is a new local vocal competition show, featuring a variety of High School, College, and Adult vocal groups from across New England. In addition to helping to bring in the hours of footage from the shoot, […]

Skinny Love

In October 2014, the Emerson College Treble Makers performed on WERS as part of Live Music Week. I was engineering the live session, and their cover of Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love” struck a chord &emdash; pun intended. Shortly thereafter, I approached the group asking if they would be interested in doing a studio version of their arrangement. They had never recorded anything professionally and I had always wanted to produce an a cappella track. It was a perfect match.

Hub on Wheels 2014

The 10th Annual Hub on Wheels ride was held on September 21, 2014 when over 5,000 cyclists took to the streets of Boston on 10, 30, or 50 mile routes around the city. Every route started & ended at City Hall Plaza and included starting the ride on a car-free Storrow Drive.

A Summer of Drum Corps

This summer I was fortunate to accept a position as a videographer for the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps. Before this summer, I never thought I would be able to professionally follow and document the marching arts. One of the instructors of my high school marching band had told me about the position which opened my eyes to this new opportunity to combine two of my passions: music & video.

I really had no clue what I was getting myself into, and now I know that drum corps is one of those activities you only truly understand by living it. Most people would gawk at the thought voluntarily dedicating their entire summer to traveling overnight on buses, sleeping on the floor in local high schools, and spending all day on a sunny field in the 100 degree heat.
