A Boston Pops Salute to our Heroes

As one could imagine, the pandemic led to the cancellation of any in-person performances for the 4th of July. Neither the BSO and the Pops have had a performance since March 2020. Naturally, we still wanted to have a broadcast and spread some joy in such a dark time.

Building a show in a pandemic had us reaching into the archives to pull some of our favorite moments from the past few years in addition to carefully creating new content. New digital performances from the orchestra members or special guests, shoutouts from celebrities and friends of the Pops, and giving some new life to the Summons The Heroes video we put together in May.

This was an amazing opportunity for me to serve as the editor for the entire show. I’ve worked on the show in the past, but it was really special to have such a strong tie to this unique edition and have that be my first broadcast show edit.
