As Symphony Hall was closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Boston Pops decided to do a live streamed concert for Valentine’s Day entitled Pops In Love. Since there was no audience, there was the opportunity to have a dance floor in the center of Symphony Hall. The Pops teamed up with 3 unique dance groups from Boston each adding their own special flair to the concert. This show pushed our in-house video system to its limits as we put more cameras in the hall than ever before, and they were in difficult to reach places as we pushed them further and further away from the already extended stage and away from the dance floor. It was a unique engineering challenge!

This program was live streamed on BSO Now on February 12, 2021.

Join Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops for this special concert celebrating the theme of love across a variety of musical genres. Snuggle up with your favorite person, or treat yourself, as you watch this concert, which was performed live from Symphony Hall on February 12. This uniquely Pops program includes spirited classics such as Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasy along with selections from Broadway and John Williams’ film music. Plus, special guest dancers from Boston dance companies perform alongside the orchestra in three selections from a variety of styles ranging from opera to jazz. Let the Boston Pops warm your heart in the comfort of your own home. This concert is now streaming on-demand through March 14 at bostonpops.org/inlove.
